Earlier this month Brown County General Hospital added a new member to its medical staff. John C. Mobley, MD has joined the staff as a General Surgeon and Weight Loss Specialist.
In addition to his general surgery experience, Dr. Mobley brings his expertise in weight loss management to Brown County General Hospital adding a new dimension to the surgical services being offered . He knows first hand the importance of losing excess weight. Formerly an obese man himself, he underwent lap band surgery losing more than 100 pounds . Today he has made it his mission to help people get healthy, lose weight and live longer.
“I love helping people who are struggling with their weight loss meet and exceed their personal goals.,” said Mobley. “I enjoy watching their success every step of the way and watching their co-morbid diseases, like Type II diabetes, high blood pressure, sleep apnea, joint pain and depression melt away.”
He received his education at the University of Louisville School of Medicine and did his internship at Good Samaritan Hospital General Surgery Department in Cincinnati where he also completed his surgical residency. He is a member of the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery.
Following training in bariatric surgery, Dr. Mobley began a private practice in West Chester, specializing specifically with adjustable gastric banding. “Being a banded surgeon gives me an insight into the patient’s aftercare that would be hard to duplicate with a non-banded surgeon,” he said. . He also is experienced in incisionless surgery for gastric bypass patients regaining their weight.
Dr. Mobley’s office, will be located at Mt. Orab Regional HealthCARE at 111 Vandament Way. He can be seen every other Friday, beginning on May 22. For an appointment you may call (937) 444-6750.
